Words from the Storm Community

TL;DR: Storm Ventures blogs! Over the past year we’ve been trying to share our wins, successes and strategies to help readers avoid some of the mistakes we’ve made. Now we want to take a moment to share some of the stories coming from our community – feel free to jump to the bottom!

If you follow Storm Ventures, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been writing and publishing content much more regularly over the past year. This has been, and continues to be, a fantastic journey that started because we wanted to do a better job of sharing what we’ve learned over the years as a firm.

If you’ve ever tried to take writing seriously, you know how challenging it can be. We’ve learned a lot over the last six months – what works, what doesn’t and what our readers find interesting.

As we look back, there are two particular things that stand-out. The first is the importance of authenticity in your writing. Storm Ventures has seen a lot of success over the years, and this certainly lends us a certain amount of credibility. BUT it is our failures that often inform our blog posts and the strategies we talk about are meant to help others avoid the mistakes we’ve made. We hope those readers building businesses particularly find value.

The second thing we’ve learned is how powerful it can be when we share things we do in the community. Functionally, it forces us as a firm to reflect on the activities we do for our community and pushes us to be more critical. But it also gives us external feedback – we can actually see if our events are successful by the engagement we get with our posts and the social media we share around our events.

Stories from our community

This brings us to the reason for the current post. What we realized as we began writing was that we all began to focus more on what our community was writing. Today we thought we’d try sharing some post from our community that were written over the last month. By no means is this comprehensive, so if we’ve missed a few, our apologies, but it’s the start. We hope to periodically take a minute and step back to just showcase the amazing content those in our community have out together and written.

With that, enjoy!
