Heeler Security: the next step in AppSec

Storm is thrilled to announce our investment in Heeler Security to revolutionize Application Security.

As software is eating the world, software security is becoming even more critical. But, this explosion of software has overwhelmed security teams and software developers. According to one customer: “Current AppSec solutions simply don’t scale.” We were early investors in AppSec by investing in SourceClear, sold to Veracode.

Heeler fundamentally transforms AppSec by seamlessly integrating security into the development lifecycle, benefiting both the security teams and software developers. Heeler unifies an application’s code, behavior and business context -- all in real time -- to give a holistic review of the application’s security posture. This eliminates the friction between the application’s intended state (code) and its running state (production).

We are excited to work with the Heeler founders. Chris Hertz and Chris DeRamus built DivvyCloud, a cloud security pioneer, later sold to Rapid7. There, they worked with key technical leaders: James Green and Trever McKee, VP software engineering and senior principal software engineer at Rapid7. Together, the four founded Heeler to seamlessly integrate security and software development.
